10 Best Eyelash Curlers in 2023

Everyone knows the saying, “Curly hair is sexy”. Now you can use your own curling iron to achieve the perfect curl, because we all know that curly eyelashes are just as beautiful.

Thanks to the wide range of sizes and shapes, you can find the perfect eyelash curler for your eyes. When buying artificial eyelashes, look for a model that comes with a mascara wand.

Follow the included instructions to get perfectly curved lashes and you’ll be ready to conquer the city in no time.

What Is An Eyelash Curler?

Using an eyelash curler is a great technique to give your eyes a more awake look. You can curl your eyelashes with the help of a small device called an eyelash curler.

Usually, it consists of two metal plates connected by a spring. With an eyelash curler, you can bend your eyelashes by placing them between the plates and applying pressure. You can beautify your eyes by giving your eyelashes a gentle curl this way.

If you’ve never curved your lashes before, you should start with light pressure first and work your way up to the degree that you’re comfortable with.

Find the best eyelash curler for your lashes among the many available on the market. To find the best solution for your needs, you may need to try a few alternative methods.

Below our product review team has picked 10 best eyelash curlers for you to choose.

The 10 Best Eyelash Curlers

1. Japonesque Go Curl Eyelash Curler

Japonesque Go Curl Travel Eyelash Curler, Perfect for On the Go Use, with Extra Soft, Gentle Lash Pad, Black

This tiny device is unlike any other eyelash curler I have seen, and that’s what drew my attention to it. Normally, a device of this type would be too large to fit in the palm of your hand, but with its ergonomic dimensions of 1.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches long, it is the exception.

This makes it convenient to store in a vanity case or drawer when not in use. Although I do not own nearly as many cosmetics as a professional makeup artist, I still have trouble closing my cosmetic bag, and it’s very convenient.

And here is another bit of good news! The Mini Eyelash Curler is just as effective as any other eyelash curler I have tried, if not more so. The device grips and tames almost all lashes without tugging them, but its unconventional design takes some practice to master. To use it, you push down on a small lever instead of bringing two handles together.

The product suffers, if anything, from not being made of metal, which makes the lever and other moving parts feel less sturdy than metal.

Since there are no replacement silicone pads, I’m afraid this device won’t last as long as others on the market. But at this price, I can do without some of the extras in exchange for practicality and ease of use.

2. Surratt Relevee Lash Curler

Relevee Lash Curler

Before I even tried it, I had my doubts about this product. Although I had heard and read nothing but praise about this product, it was the most expensive eyelash curler I looked at.

In fact, it’s more than twice as expensive as the alternative we recommended. Do you need to spend that much on an eyelash curler?

Regardless of whether I appreciate the price or not, this eyelash curler was the only one that successfully curved and lifted my lashes. There was no pinching, and after bending three times, my lashes looked great: long and heavily curved.

However, I had to carefully approach the eyelash curler to my lash line to catch all my lashes (even the thinner ones on the inner angle).

In addition, the construction of the tool is top-notch. Unlike cheaper plastic alternatives, this sleek black metal model doesn’t squeak or feel wobbly in your hands. A new pad is included in case the rubber gets wrinkled and compressed from daily use. A portable, hygienic case is included for transport and storage. (Additional supplies are available at Surratt Beauty and Amazon).

The eyelash curler was too big for my vanity drawer, which was a bigger issue than the price. While it’s true that it’s not fundamentally different from a regular eyelash curler, it just couldn’t match the portability of the small Japonesque (or its cheaper price, of course).

3. Tweezerman ProMaster Lash Curler

Tweezerman Pro Master Lash Curler

The Tweezerman ProMaster eyelash curler is a good option at a reasonable price, and it’s the same type of curler as the expensive Surratt. It caught every single one of my lashes with ease; the only difference was the strength of the curl.

My lashes curved up more than before, but not as much as with the Surratt Beauty eyelash curler.

Although I like the smaller and handier Japonesque better, the Tweezerman is a good choice for those who feel more comfortable with a traditional eyelash curler.

If you choose to go this route, you can be sure that the tool is of high quality. The handles are double coated with metal to increase stability, and the whole device feels solid.

There is nothing fragile about the fact that it clicks when squeezed. It also comes with three extra pads, which is more than most other curlers reviewed. Replacement pads are also easy to find online.

4. Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, Regular, Silver

Shu Uemura’s curling iron is “nice enough”, and that’s all that can be said about it. It may be more compact than traditional eyelash curlers, but the ergonomically designed handles ensure a secure grip. The stainless steel is shiny and looks like it’s a high quality product.

Wear and tear is the main issue. The sweep is good, but it wasn’t strong enough to last my eight-hour workday, and now I’m wondering if I should have bothered.

Despite its mediocre effectiveness, I can understand the rationale for this eyelash curler, as it’s less expensive than the drugstore Tweezerman Pro Lash.

And if your lashes have a more natural curl than mine, the eyelash curler could work very well. Since the eyelash curler only has one replacement pad, you don’t have to buy new ones right away. I couldn’t find extra replacement lashes at any online retailers (not even on the brand’s official website), so it seems difficult to get them.

5. Brilliant Beauty Lash Prodigy Eyelash Curler

Brilliant Beauty Eyelash Curler with Satin Bag & Refill Pads - Award Winning - No Pinching, Just Dramatically Curled Eyelashes for a Lash Lift in Seconds (Rose Gold)

This stainless steel item caught my eye because of its attractive rose gold finish. (I admit it: I’m an aesthetics buff!) A roomy satin pouch is included to carry and shop it neatly and conveniently.

The curling iron comes with a small instruction manual that explains how to use it properly (with photos), how to fix the rollers if they break, and how to take advantage of the curling iron’s lifetime warranty. Not only that, but each order comes with two replacement pads.

All in all, this long-lasting eyelash curler offers excellent value for money for one of the least expensive models we reviewed. The problem is that the best word to describe the actual capabilities of the device is “good.”

It did capture most lashes, but the curl was quite low. And so the style did not last as long as I thought it would. It might work for you if your lashes hold a nice curl, or if you use a mascara that does.

6. Revlon Extra Curl Eyelash Curler

Eyelash Curler by Revlon, Precision Curl Control for All Eye Shapes, Lifts & Defines, Easy to Use (Pack of 1)

Because of its unusually large shape, this eyelash curler is even more unwieldy than the average device. It is not as sturdy as other devices and has a high squeak.

However, it does have some positive features, such as the rubber grips inside the handle that prevent you from accidentally getting caught if you lose your grip.

When pressing down to create a proper curl, the device made a loud click as if it had broken. When I stopped to check it, everything seemed fine, but having the tool so close to my eye was distracting and disconcerting.

Despite repeated, forceful squeezes and a second pass (which is rarely necessary), the eyelash curler barely curled my lashes and held them in place throughout the day.

Unfortunately, there don’t appear to be any refill pads available separately for this eyelash curler. Given the low price (the lowest of all products reviewed), this is understandable. Still, it’s worth spending money on a good eyelash curler if you’re serious about curl.

7. Shiseido Eyelash Curler

Shiseido Eyelash Curler Women 1 Pc

Another attractive choice, at least as far as eyelash curlers go, this one is made of shiny gold metal and features a bright red replaceable pad. The elegant design will make you feel like a star when you use it.

However, its initial appeal quickly fades in the face of its comparatively higher price. When I first tried the curling iron, I quickly discovered that its small finger holes made it difficult to use for someone with fingers larger than mine.

I also couldn’t hold it properly because of the short handles, which probably explains why I couldn’t get a satisfactory curl.

There are readily available replacement pads for this eyelash curler, so you won’t have to buy new ones for a long time; however, the weak results and quite simply the price of the device itself make this advantage not so worthwhile.

8. Covergirl Makeup Masters Eyelash Curler

COVERGIRL Makeup Masters Eyelash Curler, Easy to Use, High Drama Lashes, 1 Count, Gentle and Easy Way to Curl Lashes, High Impact Lashes, Eye-Opening Effects

This purchase from the pharmacy was a bust for me in every way. The extremely rounded design prevented me from comfortably bringing the sharp end of the eyelash curler up to my eyelid to capture all of my lashes.

And despite my best attempts, I didn’t see much of a sweep even when I was as close as I could get. My lashes look much better when I just apply the mascara. It’s not worth the effort.

Compared to competing products, the lightweight design of the eyelash curler also falls short. You should spend a little more money for a high-quality eyelash curler that lasts a long time and works well.

9. Kevyn Aucoin The Eyelash Curler

Kevyn Aucoin The Eyelash Curler

Those with wider eyes will especially appreciate Kevyn Aucoin’s eyelash curler, which is almost always sold out. Hughes recommends Kevyn Aucoin’s eyelash curler to anyone with rounder, larger eyes because it has a deeper sweep. She also notes that it does a good job of taming even the outermost lashes.

One customer on Amazon, who previously had very straight lashes, was thrilled with the feel of the eyelash curler in her hand and on her lashes.

“Then, to my great astonishment, I noticed that my formerly straight eyelashes were now beautifully curved. I didn’t even know they were that long. Even my picky husband noticed a difference,” said one delighted customer, who gave the product five stars on Amazon.

As a bonus, you can flip the eyelash curler over and use it to curl your lower lashes, too.

10. Kaasage Black Professional Lash Curler

Kaasage Eyelash Curler for Women - Black Professional Lash Curler with Refill Silicone Pads. Easy to Curl Open-Eye Eyelashes Naturally in Seconds with No Pinching, No Pulling and Last Long

It’s not often that you find a high-quality beauty tool for around $10, but Kaasage’s did not disappoint. With its sturdy stainless steel construction and silicone pads, this curling iron serves its purpose efficiently and with minimal user input.

Our test subject, who tried it on one eye, said, “One pump was enough to lift and curl my eyes.” She had applied the serum to that eye only and noticed a “pretty visible improvement” compared to her untreated eye.

The tester felt no discomfort or tugging as she quickly pumped the feather-light device along her lash line, unlike some other curlers. The tester had never tried anything from this brand before, so she was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful, inexpensive curls this little eyelash curler conjures up.

The curler comes with one silicone pad already attached, but it also comes with five more in case you want to swap out the included pad for a fresher, cleaner one.

Included in the $9.95 price is a 15-month hygienic eyelash curler, so you’ll save money compared to buying special pads separately. We had to include this eyelash curler in our list of favorites because it delivers salon-quality results at a drugstore price.

The Benefits Of Eyelash Curlers

One of the best ways to get a natural-looking curl in your lashes is to use an eyelash curler. Swinging the lashes creates little indentations in the lash line that hold the mascara in place. This allows you to apply more mascara to your lashes than ever before, resulting in a more attractive curl.

The eyelash curler can help define and thicken your lashes by separating and coating each lash.

Swinging your lashes with a special eyelash curler can make your eyes look brighter and more awake. Both manual and electric eyelash curlers give satisfactory results.

Are Eyelash Curlers Worth It?

Eyelash curlers are used by a large portion of the population as a regular part of their self-care rituals. But how exactly do eyelash curlers work? Are they really cost effective?

Using an eyelash curler can help your lashes look more voluminous and defined. This can give the impression of brighter, larger eyes.

If your eyelashes are straight or pointing downward, you can significantly improve your look with an eyelash curler.

It is important to find the best eyelash curler for you because there are different models.

Which eyelash curler is best for you depends on your eye shape and the type of lashes you have. Choose an eyelash curler with silicone pads to prevent your lashes from breaking.

All in all, eyelash curlers are a fantastic tool to accentuate your best features. If you want your eyes to stand out, you can try these out.

Make sure you do your homework before buying an eyelash curler to get the most out of it.

What Makes a Quality Eyelash Curler?

When buying an eyelash curler, there are a few things to consider. If you keep these considerations in mind, you should have no trouble finding the ideal eyelash curler for your purposes.

Wide and comfortable grip

Obviously, you’re looking for a practical and ergonomic eyelash curler. The eyelashes should be curved using an eyelash curler with a wide handle to avoid pinching the skin. The pads of the eyelash curler should be gentle on your lashes so as not to harm them.

Curved Shape

The eyelash curler you use should also create a noticeable amount of curl. To achieve the most natural-looking curl, choose an eyelash curler that has a curved shape and can wrap around your lashes.

Replacement Pad

For optimal eyelash care, choose the eyelash curler of your choice so that you can replace the pad.

Shape of your eyes

When choosing the right eyelash curler, you need to think about your eye shape and the texture of your eyelashes. If you have round eyes, you need an eyelash curler that will allow you to reach all of your lashes.

Look for a curved eyelash curler if your lashes are straight, as this will enhance the curl. Also, look for an eyelash curler that is easy to use and clean.

Eyelash Curlers FAQs

Do eyelash curlers damage lashes?

Others fear that using an eyelash curler could permanently damage their eyelashes, so they avoid it. However, eyelash curlers are very safe and can really help improve the appearance of your eyelashes when used properly.

Choosing and using an eyelash curler correctly is very important. It is important that you choose an eyelash curler that is soft enough for your individual lash line.

Do not pull or tug on your eyelashes, and keep your eyelash curler clean to avoid spreading bacteria.

To have long, thick lashes, all you need is an eyelash curler and a little practice.

What is the safest way to curl eyelashes?

Look for an eyelash curler that has a good, wide handle. If you use this method, you will not have to worry about pinching your skin when you swing your eyelashes.

Choose an eyelash curler with padded lash combs. If your lashes get caught in the eyelash curler, you will not run the risk of them being pulled out.

Choose an eyelash curler that has a long handle. This will give you more control over the eyelash curler, resulting in a more even curl.

When you finally have an eyelash curler in your hands, the first thing you should do is read the instructions thoroughly. If you avoid mishaps like this, you can achieve an evenly beautiful eyelash curl.
