Fabletics Review – Scam or Legit? Truth Exposed!

Should you buy Fabletics? Is it worth your money or a scam?

If you are reading this Fabletics review, chances are you have watched the ads for Fabletics and wonder if it really delivers what it claims.

Since I live in workout clothes (they are just so comfy), I am very selective when looking for good deals. Since I have been a Fabletics customer for over a year and have purchased a ridiculous amount of leggings and sports bras, I figured other people would benefit from my opinion of the company.

Quality is critical when it comes to workout clothes (especially leggings). Low quality garments can be see-through, uncomfortable, cause camel toe, curl, make your contours look odd, or even tear during workouts. That’s why I am always on the lookout for new, high-quality workout clothes.

Over the past few weeks, I have done thorough research about the Fabletics to help you make an informed decision. I can tell you everything you need to know before you buy.

At the end of this review, I will also tell you the best alternative of Fabletics so that you can enjoy the same benefit at a lower cost.

In this Fabletics review, I’ll cover the following topics to assist you in making an informed decision:

What is Fabletics?

It was in 2013 that Adam Goldenberg and Don Ressler founded Fabletics, a subscription-based sports brand. A number of celebrities, including Vanessa Hudgens, Demi Lovato and Kevin Hart, have collaborated with the brand to launch celebrity collections. Fabletics is known for its introductory offer on Instagram, where new members can buy two bottoms for $24.

However, you must become a member at VIP and spend $55 per month to take advantage of it and save money on the rest of the site. This equates to $80 worth of “store credit” that you can use on anything in the store. Access to the Fabletics FIT fitness app and a 20%-50% discount on the rest of the brand’s products are also included.

XS to 4X for women and XS to XXL for men are available in a variety of styles, including activewear like leggings and sports bras, as well as swimwear, underwear and loungewear.

The company has also partnered with Lizzo to sell their Yitty shapewear product, which Fabletics members can purchase at exclusive member discounts.

How Does Fabletics Work?

On January 1, you can finally make purchases with your credit card. If you have not decided by the 5th of the month (yes, just 5 days later), Fabletics will charge your card on the 6th and you’ll receive a credit to use in conjunction with the VIP discount on any Fabletics purchase.

Also, you can avoid the charge for that month by logging into your account within the same five-day window and “skipping” the purchase.

While you can cancel your Fabletics subscription “at any time,” if you do so after the first five days, you can contact customer service for a refund if you have not done so before.

Finally, 12 months after purchase, all unused credits expire, although Fabletics will “remind” you to use them.

What Do You Get With Fabletics Membership?

When you sign up, you’ll get two pairs of leggings for just $24, plus an instant 80% discount on everything else in the Fabletics shop. If you need new fitness clothes, this might be a good deal.

On the other hand, it could just be a ploy to get you to spend more money than you planned.

The first month is on the house, but if you regularly spend more than $55 on workout clothes, the monthly subscription might be a good deal after all.

Plus, all of the shop’s regular prices are discounted for members. Leggings are often priced between $70 and $90, while sports bras are available for $40 to $75 (with discounts of up to 50% for members). You can shop at Fabletics even if you are not a member, but it will cost you significantly more money.

Fabletics will automatically charge your credit card $55 if you have not made a selection within the first five days of the month. You can then use that amount to buy anything in the shop or on the website.

Special benefits for VIPs include: If you refer a friend for a VIP membership, you will both receive a $40 credit to redeem at Fabletics.

As an added bonus, Fabletics offers a rewards programme where you can earn points: two points for every dollar spent and twenty points for every product review. The minimum number of points for redeeming free items is 500, and 2,000 for an entire outfit.

How Can You Get The Most Of Your Fabletics Membership?

As a member, you can save a lot of money by using the $55 monthly credit, provided you like the styles available in the selection window and do not mind spending $55 on new workout clothes every month.

If you do not want to get something new (or spend the money) every month, you can skip paying for that month and still be treated as a VIP member.

Of course, you can only skip a month if you do so within the first five days of the month. Fabletics will notify you by email before it charges your account.

However, the company sends out a lot of emails, so it’s easy to miss the notification. After Rachel forgot to cancel her Fabletics membership a few times, she had a large balance that she needed to use up immediately. To prevent that from happening to her again, she set reminders in each of her calendars.

While Fabletics allows returns on many items, the company notes that certain products purchased as part of special offers cannot be returned.

So be sure to read the fine print before placing an order. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you have 90 days to return the merchandise in unused condition.

If you live near one of the 70+ Fabletics stores or a Happy Return Bar, you can drop off your return there and it will be shipped back to the warehouse for you.

In either case, you can simply print out a return label and arrange shipping yourself. Products returned to the warehouse should be refunded within 10 business days.

What We Like About Fabletics

The leggings pass the squat test

Fabletics leggings are not see-through and will not make you embarrass yourself in front of other gym-goers when you squat.

In our tests, none of the polyester-elastane blend leggings were see- through to the underwear. We tried on several colors and patterns and found that all three provided excellent coverage.

Esther also owns a pair of white Fabletics leggings, which she says are just as squat-ready as the dark ones.

The leggings don’t show sweat marks

You can not tell by looking at us, but we were sweating in those thick leggings that covered us completely as the temperature soared to over 90 degrees.

We walked around in the heat and exercised for an hour while wearing them, and not even the sweaty areas (armpits, back of the knees) showed any signs of discoloration or strange stains.

Items come in a huge variety of styles and colors

Fabletics offers a variety of solutions to suit a wide range of tastes. The Define High-Waisted 7/8 Legging, for example, is available in a whopping 68 different colors, while the Oasis Twist Sports Bra comes in 33 different colors, from simple black to bold designs. You can wear them as a set or collect other colors to create your own unique combinations.

The clothing is designed for a range of activities

Fabletics has divided its selection of sports bras into low-, medium- and high-impact categories so customers can find the perfect bra for their needs.

When we put the No Bounce sports bra (high impact) and the Oasis Twist sports bra (medium impact) through their paces, neither moved during a run or a spinning class.

Oasis is designed specifically for Pilates, Define for strength training and cardio, and Boost for strength training and cardio with a strap that lifts the waist.

The Oasis leggings are the softest of the Fabletics models, although they are not nearly as buttery as, say, Lulemon’s Align leggings. Both the Define and Boost leggings provide some support and compression.

The sports bras could do double duty as shirts

Since the temperatures outside were dangerously high, we decided to use the sports bras as shirts for our most strenuous activities.

The designs are so versatile that they can be worn both during and after exercise; they look great with leggings or high-waisted shorts for a relaxed evening. If you want to wear a shirt over your Oasis sports bra, know that the knot can show through.

The site’s photos help you find the best fit

Fabletics’ website features some of the most extensive photo galleries we have seen for its products. On each item page, you can choose from a variety of model sizes and heights to see how the item might look on you.

What We Don’t Like About Fabletics

The subscription model could get expensive

In principle, you can maintain your VIP status without paying anything each month. However, the $55 monthly cost can add up quickly if you do not “skip” a few times.

Also, while the subscription model gives the impression of a savings, we feel that many of Fabletics’ offerings are expensive and the membership discount is more in line with their true value.

While the cost is comparable to non-member stores like Athleta and Lululemon, the quality of the clothing is not quite as high.

The sizing is inconsistent

Since we both have petite bust sizes, we contacted the company and asked for samples of the Oasis Twist Sports Bra.

When they arrived, Hannah noted that one was the very similar (and similarly named) Oasis Twist-Front Sports Bra and that the fit of the two bras was slightly different.

The twist-front bra is cut higher and has a tighter band than the original twist bra, which provides less lift and support.

An added complexity comes from the fact that many of the identical images are found on both product pages, although the descriptions on both pages are slightly different.

Note that the sizes do not fit or feel the same on all products, but other than that, the bras are nice and comfortable.

Benefits of Fabletics

1. Product Quality is acceptable

Fabletics’s product quality is satisfactory. It’s well-designed and serves its purpose well. Some customers may, however, receive defective products from them. As a result, I would recommend that Fabletics inspect the products before shipping them to customers. Customers are less likely to receive subpar or defective products as a result of this.

2. Customer Service is Available

Shopping in stores that provide poor customer service is extremely inconvenient. As a result, it’s critical to shop at stores that at the very least provide a phone number and an email address for after-sales service.

Fabletics’s customer service is adequate but not exceptional. You may contact them if you have any questions or concerns about your order, but it may take more than 48 hours to receive a response. This is not ideal, especially in some emergency situations.

3. Fabletics meets the product description

Many stores use exaggerated marketing tactics in their advertisements to increase sales. This does not always imply that the product is a scam.

Fabletics’s advertisements are quite impressive and can catch the attention of customers. Some may believe they are overhyped. However, you cannot conclude that it is a scam because Fabletics does, to some extent, deliver on its promises.

4. Door-to-door Delivery

Many people prefer to shop online because it saves them time. Simply place an order and wait for the product to arrive. You are not required to drive to a physical store to obtain the product.

Fabletics is an online retailer that offers door-to-door delivery. Even if you live in a remote location, you can still purchase from Fabletics.

5. Easy to Place an Order

Fabletics’s website design is appealing. It is very simple for people to place an order. Simply click the “add to cart” button and proceed to the payment page with your credit card. Unlike a physical store, Fabletics’s website accepts orders 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Fabletics Cons and Complaints

1. Fabletics is Overpriced

Fabletics is not inexpensive. Many people complain that it is too expensive. Because the quality of Fabletics is not superior to that of other similar products, the higher price is not justified.

You will be able to find a similar or identical product at a lower cost elsewhere. Let me tell you where at the end of this Fabletics review.

2. Inefficient logistics

Fabletics is a small company with insufficient capital to invest in logistics. They are forced to rely on inefficient third-party logistics. They have minimal control over the shipping speed.

Therefore, you may see a lot of customer complaints about their slow delivery. If you want fast shipping, go with a large marketplace like Amazon. Unlike Fabletics, Amazon can ship products in a matter of days.

3. Fabletics Has Few Positive Reviews

I looked for positive Fabletics reviews but came up empty-handed. While the product is excellent, customers may be dissatisfied with their service.

Because Fabletics is a small company, you should not expect them to provide world-class service. It is preferable to purchase from a large marketplace such as Amazon if you want to ensure good after-sales service. There is much better customer protection there.

4. Fabletics does not offer unconditional refunds

Fabletics does not always issue refunds to customers. Although there is a refund policy, Fabletics has complete discretion over whether or not to issue refunds.

Some customers may find it unjust. However, this is a disadvantage when purchasing from an independent online store. Personally, I prefer purchasing from marketplaces such as Amazon, where the refund policy is reasonable. When requesting a refund, you will have Amazon’s backup.

5. Difficult to Return the Product

If you don’t like Fabletics, it’s difficult to return it to them. You would be responsible for the shipping costs.

That is why I dislike shopping at independent stores. If you want to avoid this problem, I recommend purchasing from Amazon. If you don’t like the product, you can easily return it. Later, I’ll tell you where you can get a similar or identical product to Fabletics on Amazon.

6. Some Good Reviews are Written by Fabletics’s Affiliates

You probably have found some other reviews of Fabletics and all of them are saying good words.

But some of them are actually paid to write, meaning they are sponsored posts. Therefore, their words are often biased and not trustworthy. Those reviews are simply sales pages and do not tell you the downsides of Fabletics.

By common sense, should you trust someone who has a conflict of interest that receives huge compensation by “reviewing” Fabletics? Probably not. They are not reviewing, but selling!

Therefore, I recommend reading the reviews of those written by the non-affiliates of Fabletics.

7. Fabletics Spent a Lot of Budgets on Advertising

Fabletics spends a lot of money on advertisements. There is nothing wrong with marketing their products via paid advertisements.

But the problem is how can they make a profit with huge marketing costs? It’s common sense that Fabletics passes the costs to customers. So that explains why Fabletics is more expensive than other similar products you can find on Amazon. The higher price doesn’t mean their quality is better. They are just trying to cover their marketing costs.

As a smart customer, you should only pay for the quality of the product, but not the marketing costs of the product. That’s why I recommend purchasing from a large marketplace like Amazon, which I will tell you more about later.

Is Fabletics Easy To Cancel?

There is no simple button you can click to cancel your VIP membership. Nevertheless, it is not the easiest task in the world.

To cancel your membership for free, you can contact customer service via live chat on the website anytime between 9am and 9pm Eastern time or by phone.

Of course, the person you are talking to will try to persuade you to remain as an active member of VIP with incentives (Rachel has offered her a $10 credit), but if you stand firm and insist that you no longer want to be a member, you can end the conversation in less than five minutes.

Is Fabletics a Scam?

I cannot say Fabletics is a scam for legal reasons. I researched them thoroughly, including their social media pages, review sites, forums, and so on. And while I see nothing suspicious about their business, I cannot find any verified positive reviews.

If Fabletics is a genuine and well-established company offering high-quality products, you should be able to find numerous positive customer reviews about them online.

But, strangely, I can’t find any. This could be due to the company’s service quality rather than its product quality. As a result, I have less faith in them. That’s why I looked for a similar or identical product on Amazon for you. Let me elaborate later.

How to Contact Fabletics’s Customer Service?

Fabletics does not have great customer service. It may take more than 48 hours to get a response from them. Here are the contact details:

Fabletics Reviews: Final Verdict

Fabletics is a fantastic product that delivers on the promises made in their advertisements. However, I would not recommend purchasing from them. Instead, you can find a similar or identical product on Amazon.

Because Fabletics is a small company, I am hesitant to purchase from them. Personally, I always try to find an alternative on Amazon. Every time, I can find a similar or better one at a lower price on Amazon. In the following section, I’ll tell you where you can get it on Amazon.

Where to Get the Best Alternative of Fabletics?

If you’d like to get the best alternative for Fabletics, you might go to Amazon.

I just found a very similar product on Amazon that can produce the same or even better results. It is also more reasonably priced!

That’s why I bought one from Amazon, and I don’t regret it because of the excellent customer service and quick delivery.

You should look into it so that you won’t regret it later.
