Caprese Salad Recipe: How to Make It

Ingredients (2 Servings)

  • 1 1/2 cups cherry tomatoes (the smaller the better) 
  • 1 1/2 cups small mozzarella balls 
  • 1/2 cup fresh chopped basil leaves 
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes 
  • 1 clove garlic, minced 
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil 
  • Sea salt, to taste  


  1. In a food processor, pulse together half of the basil with the garlic, salt, and olive oil. This makes the salad dressing. 
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the tomatoes, mozzarella, red pepper flakes, and the other half of the basil. 
  3. Drizzle with dressing and toss to combine.
